A Bit About Me
"I spent a lot of my childhood around gardening, helping my great-grandfather planting and harvesting fruit and veg. It was around this time that he told me that he used to be a self employed gardener. To my young ears this sounded like a great job to have - spending time outdoors in nature, and helping it thrive.
Growing up, I would occasionally plant my own fruit and veg in a little patch I created in my small garden at home - but my career didn't involve gardening. That was until I joined a nursery, with a mass production line of plants. This reignited my love for gardening, but if I'm honest, it wasn't what I wanted; I wanted to be of service to those that need it.
This is when I decided to follow in my great-grandfathers footsteps and try to start my own gardening business. Since 2018, I am proud to say that I have been building my customer base up, starting from nothing other than what little savings I had, to the business we have today. Starting from the ground up, buying the tools, getting my driving license and purchasing a van has made me so proud of what I have built, and I can't wait to see what the future brings, and the lovely people I will meet."
Work Experience
Aug 2005 - Jul 2016
Jul 2016 - Apr 2018
Jul 2017 - Apr 2018
Apr 2018 - Present
Gardening as a hobby.
During this time, I had a small fruit and vegetable patch in my garden. I didn't think much of it at the time, simply growing food to eat, but i was honing my knowledge - care and attention to plants.
Tristan Nurseries.
I started a role at a nursery, where I continued my care for plants, gaining even more knowledge.
Field-Bro's business.
During the time I was with Tristan, me and my brother started our own business - Field-Bro's. We dabbled in all sorts of work, being general handymen. This gave me an insight into how businesses are run - how get get them off the ground, and all of the routes to take.
Field's Gardening
on the 5th April, 2018, I decided to take on the daunting task of starting and running my own business. Gardening had become my passion, and I had a lot of experience, so I gave it a go. I started slowly, but things picked up at a surprising rate year one. I was helping some lovely people - occasionally some family and friends.
With the profits I would make, it would all go back into my business - buying tools, getting a van. I am proud to say now that I am fully equipped to take on any gardening job.
